Prince Harry will meet a group of people associated with the film as well as charities that the film will benefit: Walking with the Wounded; Sentebale and The David Rattray Memorial Trust. The Prince is a founding Patron of Sentebale and has been Patron of a number of Walking With The Wounded expeditions.
Zulu is a film about the British Army and the Zulu Battalions set in January 1879 and tells the story of how 11 Victoria Crosses were awarded when 150 British soldiers fielded 4000 Zulu warriors. The event will be a celebration of the original film 50 years ago and of the work the charities carry out with the wounded and in Africa.
Walking With The Wounded finances the re-training of wounded servicemen and women and in so doing, assists them with the skills and qualifications necessary to find new careers outside of the military.
Sentebale is a charity founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, which helps the most vulnerable children in Lesotho get the support they need to lead healthy and productive lives.
The David Rattray Memorial Trust aim is to educate and care for children in a number of schools in a defined area of Kwa-Zulu Natal. The charity commemorates David Rattray, who devoted his life to the study of the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.
