Duchess of Sussex bakes banana bread to bring to Dubbo

After a busy first day on the royal tour, the Duchess of Sussex went back to Admiralty House where they are staying to bake a loaf of banana bread to bring to Dubbo.

The Duchess carried the bread onto the plane along with ‘Royal Blend’ Fortnum and Mason tea.

After touring the Woodley’s farm to better understand the effect the drought has had on farmers, Prince Harry and Meghan sat down for tea with the family.

The banana bread had chocolate chips and ginger in it and proved a hit as it was quickly devoured.

Afterwards, Benita Woodley recalled Meghan gifting it them, commenting: “She said if you go to someone’s house you always bring something, so she did.

“She said she was worried about the bananas, that she’d put too many bananas in it. But the Duke said there’s never too many bananas.”

During the sit-down, talks turned to how the Duchess is dealing with her first major tour and pregnancy.

Meghan commented that she is “running on adrenaline” but feeling “pretty well so far.”

From the farm, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex headed to Victoria Park where an estimated 15,000 people showed up to see the royal couple.

In a slightly ironic turn of events as Prince Harry addressed the crowd on how farmers can suffer from mental health due to the droughts, the skies opened up complete with pouring rain and hail.

The Duchess even stepped in and held an umbrella for her husband while he gave his speech.

Dubbo has had no rain in the last three weeks and very little for the past seven months.

Tomorrow, Thursday local time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will fly to Melbourne where another walkabout is on the schedule, as well as a beach clean with BeachPatrol on the South Melbourne beach.
