The Queen’s coronation took place on 2 June 1953 at Westminster Abbey. She had become Queen a year earlier on 6 February 1952 upon the death of her father, King George VI.
Before the 2018 ITV documentary, the majority of footage available from that momentous day was in black and white. Now, colourised versions of footage are available for the world to view.
The documentary includes remarks from The Queen’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent, as well as Sir Trevor McDonald, Len Goodman and Alison Steadman.
