Meghan Markle makes surprise apperance at The Queen’s staff Christmas party

The Queen held her annual staff Christmas party at Windsor Castle earlier this week, although this year it turned out to be extra exciting as the newest soon-to-be addition to the Royal Family surprised guests.

Hosted by the Lord Chamberlain at Windsor Castle this past Monday, The Queen’s Royal Household Christmas party broke with tradition when Meghan Markle showed up. Rarely do partners of a member of the Royal Family attend until they have married into the family.

However, Meghan is proving once again just how popular she is, not only with her fans but ‘The Firm’ as well. It was also confirmed this week that Meghan will be with the Royal Family for Christmas at Sandringham and will join them as they walk to church Christmas morning.

The news of Prince Harry and Meghan joining the party managed to stay quiet all the way until Thursday when royal correspondent for the Daily Mail, Rebecca English tweeted: “Meghan Markle was a surprise guest at the Queen’s annual staff Christmas party at Windsor Castle on Monday.

“One person who met her told me that she was ‘charm personified. She held out her hand & said ‘Hi, I’m Meghan’. She was unbelievably beautiful and Harry looked so proud’.”

Another guest added: “She asked everyone she met their names and what they did. It was very natural.”

Meghan wore a burgundy lace cocktail dress, and Prince Harry stepped aside letting his bride walk around the room charming the nearly 900 guests.

The Queen was escorted by her son, Prince Andrew for the occasion and her cousin’s the Duke of Gloucester and Duke of Kent.

While speaking to some of the guests, Meghan told how Harry and she had recently spent time at Windsor Castle looking for the State Rooms in preparation for their wedding next year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to wed in May 2018 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. An exact date is expected to be announced in due course.
