Queen Elizabeth II

Commemorative bubbly on sale in honour of Platinum Jubilee

The Royal Collection Trust is selling sparkling wine to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The vintage sparkling wine is a classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier made exclusively from hand-picked fruit grown on vineyards in Kent and West Sussex. Gold in colour, the wine has aromas of rich and honeyed citrus fruit, hints of sweet spices, and white peach. Enjoyable as an aperitif, the wine pairs particularly well with mature English cheddar, as well as British seafood like crab, classic fish and chips, and langoustines.

The label design takes inspiration from the gold embroidery on Her Majesty’s Robe of Estate, which was worn on the Coronation Day, 2 June 1953. The label includes a crowned EIIR cypher surrounded by golden olive leaves and ears of wheat, symbolising peace and plenty.

In addition to the wine, people can also buy British hand-cut Champagne Flute Glasses. The glasses are engraved with an emblem depicting the national flowers of the United Kingdom, and each pair is presented in a satin-lined gift box.

Profits from the sales of the wine and champagne flutes will go back to The Royal Collection Trust. The Royal Collection Trust is a registered charity that helps fund the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, which in turn allows public access through exhibitions, publications, loans, and educational programmes.

Buckingham Palace English Sparkling Wine, 12% abv (£39.00 for a 70cl bottle) and Champagne Flute Glasses (£120.00 for a pair) can be purchased online from the Royal Collection Trust. They are also available in Royal Collection Trust shops in London, Windsor, and Edinburgh.
