Celebrations at Balmoral for The Queen as she records her most successful racing season in many decades

The Queen is celebrating at Balmoral this evening after her horse, Fresh Fancy, won his race at Kempton Park, making 2021 Her Majesty’s most successful racing season in many decades.

Fresh Fancy’s success on the all weather on Monday means that The Queen has now recorded her 30th winner of the flat season.

This beats her previous modern seasonal best of 29 wins which was recorded in 2019.

There is then a significant gap back to her 3rd best seasons – 1992, 2014 & 2016 where she jointly had 23 winners.

2021 is The Queen’s best season since The Racing Post’s record-keeping began back in 1988.

And there are still plenty of more winning opportunities to come, with flat racing in Britain due to continue for another few weeks.

In 2021, The Queen has also enjoyed two winners over jumps, which takes her annual winning total to 32.

19 of her horses have finished in a respectable 2nd place, with another 16 finishing in 3rd.

The 95-year-old monarch has had 32 winners from 133 runs this year, giving her an impressive winning rate of 24%.

In terms of prize money, she has won just over £460,000 in the past nine months.
