The Queen tests positive for Covid-19

The Queen has tested positive for Covid-19 and is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms.

Buckingham Palace confirmed on Sunday morning that the 95-year-old monarch has contracted coronavirus which she has spent the last two years trying to avoid.

A spokesperson said Her Majesty expects to continue light duties at Windsor.

The Queen continues to receive around the clock medical attention and is following all appropriate guidelines.

It is understood that there has been an outbreak of Covid cases within Windsor Castle over the past week.

The Queen has held a number of audiences, both in person and virtually.

The Queen had also been in contact with her eldest son, the Prince of Wales, who tested positive last week.
