Royal engagements cancelled as The Royal Family continues to mourn Queen Elizabeth II

All royal engagements which were due to take place over the next seven days have been cancelled as The Royal Family continues to mourn Queen Elizabeth II.

At the request of The King, the official period of Royal Mourning will end on Monday, September 26.

As such, all official engagements have been cancelled or postponed. Flags at royal residences will remain at half mast.

After such a busy week mourning The Queen very publicly, the family will now have a chance to grieve their loss privatetly.

Engagements that have been cancelled include the Princess of Wales’s planned trip to the Laver Cup.

In a statement last week, Buckingham Palace said: “Following the death of Her Majesty the Queen, it is His Majesty the King’s wish that a period of royal mourning be observed from now until seven days after the Queen’s Funeral.

“Royal mourning will be observed by members of the royal family, Royal Household staff and representatives of the Royal Household on official duties, together with troops committed to ceremonial duties.”
