Queen Camilla and the Princess of Wales stood side by side as they watched the nation pay tribute to Britain’s fallen heroes during the National Service of Remembrance.

The two royals watched the annual ceremony from the centre balcony of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in Whitehall on Sunday, 8 November.

The Queen and Catherine were among several members of the Royal Family who gathered at the historic government building to watch as King Charles led the nation in honouring those who lost their lives in conflicts past and present.

While the King, wearing the uniform of Marshal of the Royal Air Force, laid a wreath at the Cenotaph, the Queen and Princess of Wales watched from above.

They were joined on the centre balcony by no other members of the Royal Family.

Other senior royals were positioned on separate balconies overlooking the ceremony.

On the left balcony, the Duke of Kent was joined by the Duchess of Edinburgh and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, husband of the Princess Royal.

The Duke of Kent has a particularly close connection to Remembrance Sunday, having served in the Armed Forces for 21 years. His wreath was laid at the Cenotaph on his behalf by his equerry, Captain Thomas Baker-Cresswell of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.

The right balcony was occupied by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, who also watched the commemorations.

The different balcony groupings brought together members of the wider Royal Family as the nation paused to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
