Princess Anne presents the Gold Cup

The Princess Royal presented the Gold Cup on the biggest day of this year’s Cheltenham Festival.

Galopin Des Champs claimed the prestigious race for the second time.

Princess Anne congratulated winning jockey, Paul Townend, as she oversaw the presentation ceremony as the four day festival drew to a close. It was his fourth win in the Gold Cup.

Her Royal Highness also chatted with winning trainer, Willie Mullins, and owner of Galopin Des Champs, JP McManus.

The Princess had been present for the majority of Cheltenham with other members of the Royal Family joined the crowds, too.

Queen Camilla visited on Style Wednesday, another of the high points of the event.

Zara and Mike Tindall attended every day of the festival. Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, took in one day of racing as did Princes Eugenie and her husband. Jack Brooksbank.
