It’s been suspected for months but now we know – Prince George has achieved a milestone all children dream about.
New photos of the second in line to the throne confirm that he’s now as tall as his mum.
In recent weeks, George’s height has been a talking point. At Trooping the Colour, less than a month ago, he appeared to be catching up with the Princess of Wales considerably but for that event, Kate wore high heels meaning she was several inches taller than her first son.
Last week, Kate and George visited RAF Conigsby for Armed Forces Day and a photo of the two of them side by side showed the young prince almost shoulder to shoulder with his mother. However, once again, Kate’s shoes had a slight heel to them so the difference couldn’t be measured accurately.
However, a new album showing George and his siblings, Charlotte and Louis, greeting their mum as she completed the Three Peaks Challenge have shown that the boy born to be king is now level with his mother.
The images, in which both are wearing flat trainers, shows that George is starting to inch ahead of his mum. And in a family group shot, he appears to be closing the gap rapidly on his dad, Prince William.
The new images were shared a week after the Princess of Wales became the first royal to complete the Three Peaks Challenge in which hikers climb the highest summits in England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours.
It was confirmed that her brother, James Middleton, undertook the challenge with her. He also took to social media to share a photo of him hugging Kate and praising his sister for her determination.
Kate and James completed the Three Peaks to support the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. The Princess of Wales was treated at the Royal Marsden after she was found to have cancer following an abdominal operation in January 2024. She underwent preventative chemotherapy and later announced she was in remission.
