Prince and Princess of Wales pay tribute to photographer Liz Hatton

The Prince and Princess of Wales have paid tribute to photographer Liz Hatton who has died.

The teenager met the Prince and Princess at Windsor Castle where she was invited to take behind the scenes photos of an investiture.

Liz, who was 17, had an aggressive and rare form of cancer, a desmoplastic small round cell tumour. She was invited to Windsor for the rare photo session after Prince William heard she had created a ‘bucket list’ after learning of her terminal diagnosis.

She died at her home in Harrogate with her family at her side.

Learning of her death, William and Catherine said ”We are so sorry to hear that Liz Hatton has sadly passed away. It was an honour to have met such a brave and humble young woman.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Liz’s parents Vicky and Aaron and her brother Mateo at this unimaginably difficult time.”

As well as photographing the investiture, Liz posed for pictures with William and Catherine. She went on to complete many more of the ideas on her bucket list.

As they announced her death, her family asked people to share their favourite photo taken by Liz to celebrate her work.
