Looking ahead to the Coronation – King Charles and Queen Camilla in new portrait

With just a month to go until the Coronation, King Charles and Queen Camilla have posed for a new portrait photo.

Their Majesties are seen smiling in the image taken in the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace.

Behind them is the Coronation portrait of King George V, the Monarch’s great grandfather and the founder of the House of Windsor. The room also features the Coronation portrait of Queen Mary.

The portrait was released at the same time as the design for the Coronation invitation which is due to be sent out to over 2,000 guests in the coming days.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6th 2023.
