She usually brings the biggest hat and a big dose of brightness with her when she joins the Royals for the Christmas Day service at St. Mary Magdalene Church at Sandringham and over the years, the Duchess of Cornwall has shown a tendency for jewel rich shades for her outfit at this most special of the festive family events. We won’t see the Windsors gathered together to celebrate this Christmas – coronavirus pandemic restrictions mean they will mark the day apart with Camilla and Charles staying at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire. Instead, Royal Central looks back at some of the Duchess’ most dramatic Christmas Day looks.
Royal Blue

All eyes were on her when she arrived for Christmas Day service in 2005 and Camilla chose a sapphire blue hat matched with a cornflower coloured coat as she made her festive duchess debut.

Regal Purple

This two piece was Camilla’s pick for Christmas 2019 and has a hint of blue about it, too. The jacket is more detailed than we’re used to seeing on her while the hat is almost discreet for a royal who has made mega millinery her very own.

Rubies and emeralds

In 2017, the Duchess of Cornwall had a rare red moment for church on Christmas Day in a bright scarlet coat and hat with matching crown.

The jade green of the coat dominates but her customary Christmas boots have a hint of sage green here. And of course, the hat is huge. Well, that’s what Camilla at Christmas is all about.
