Prince Charles and Camilla attend Battle of Britain Fighter Association service

<![CDATA[The Prince of Wales, Patron, Battle of Britain Fighter Association, and The Duchess of Cornwall, attended the Battle of Britain Fighter Association Service of Thanksgiving and Rededication at Westminster Abbey on Sunday.
Veterans of the Battle of Britain, their families, as well as representatives from the military attended the service on Sunday.
This annual service observes the incredible victory, and loss of life, by Royal Air Force pilots and aircrew during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
The occasion mark’s the nation's gratefulness for the service and sacrifice of those who took part in this critical phase of World War Two.
The Battle of Britain was the first major campaign to be fought solely in the skies. When the battle was over 544 RAF pilots and aircrew were dead.

The pilots and aircrew are honoured in the RAF Chapel at the east end of the Abbey’s Henry VII Chapel where a stunning stained glass memorial window designed by Hugh Easton was unveiled on 10 July 1947 by King George VI.
After the service, Charles and Camilla met the congregation during a reception and watched a fly past over Westminster Abbey.
