Ever the green Monarch, King Charles was surrounded by sustainability at one of the most famous royal residences of all, Hampton Court Palace.
The King founded the Sustainable Markets Initiative five years ago – it’s an organisation that focuses on putting both nature and community at the heart of economics. The anniversary event held at the palace celebrated SMI’s accomplishments, in addition to future plans.
King Charles was shown the FE GEN3 Evo, a Formula E sustainable racing car, and the newly developed Pit Boost fast charger, as well as other sustainable developments being implemented across different industries.

The reception brought together indigenous people from all over the world and CEOs and government leaders at Hampton Court.
In 2020, the Terra Carta, a plan to help guide us forward, was launched.
The mandate “offers the basis of a recovery plan that puts Nature, People and Planet at the heart of global value creation – one that will harness the precious, irreplaceable power of Nature combined with the transformative innovation and resources of the private sector.”
The Terra Carta has been embraced by 250 CEOs across several sectors.
The reception finished off the Terra Carta Roundtables & Exhibition held on 10-11 March at Hampton Court Palace.
