Charles & Camilla’s overseas tours are suspended over coronavirus fears

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall’s Spring tour has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Their Royal Highnesses were due to visit Bosnia & Herzegovina, Cyprus and Jordan, however, Clarence House now says the visit is postponed.

A spokesperson for the couple said: “Owing to the unfolding situation with the Coronavirus pandemic, The British Government has asked Their Royal Highnesses to postpone their spring tour to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus and Jordan.”

Prince Charles was due to start the tour next week, arriving in Srebenica to mark the 25th anniversary of the massacre of Bosniak men and boys in the area during the Bosnian War.

The Prince of Wales would have then flew to Cyprus on March 18th where he would have been joined by the Duchess of Cornwall for a four day stay.

The couple would have been the first royals to visit Cyprus on an official tour since The Queen in 1993.

On March 21st 2020, the prince and the duchess were due to arrive to Jordan for the last part of this overseas tour. The couple would have been accompanied on many of their engagements by members of the Jordanian Royal Family.

Charles last visited Jordan in 2015, while Camilla’s previous royal visit there was in 2013.
