King Charles and Queen Camilla will spend Christmas Day at Sandringham, the favourite festive retreat of Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Late Majesty often gathered her family around her at her Norfolk home.
Now, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that His Majesty will celebrate his first Christmas as Monarch at Sandringham.
It’s not yet been confirmed which members of the Royal Family will be joining him.
It became a Christmas tradition for Queen Elizabeth II to greet crowds outside the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, on the estate, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. However, her last two Christmas Days were spent at Windsor because of the coronavirus pandemic. Her Late Majesty had made the ancient castle her main residence during her later years and pandemic restrictions meant she was unable to travel to Norfolk in either 2020 or 2021.
King Charles will also deliver the traditional Christmas Day speech to the nation, broadcast across the UK at 3pm.
