King Charles attends final rehearsal for the Coronation as rain lashes London

The King was just visible through a rain spattered car window as he left Westminster Abbey after a final rehearsal for the Coronation.

With just hours to go until Charles III becomes the fortieth Monarch to be crowned at the Abbey since 1066, His Majesty was joined by Queen Camilla for one last run through of the service as intermittent showers battered the capital.

The King smiled and waved to wellwishers as he was driven out of the Abbey.

Earlier, the Prince of Wales had also been seen joining the royal party for the rehearsal.

The weather forecast for May 6th in London shows a strong chance of more showers and the possibility of thunder. The planned fly past might have to be cancelled if conditions around the capital are too poor.

The Coronation takes place at 11am on May 6th 2023.
