Sophie and Lady Louise put on their dancing shoes as they appear on Strictly Come Dancing

The Countess of Wessex and her daughter, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, made a cameo appearance on Saturday evening’s Strictly Come Dancing as they watched the popular BBC show from the audience.

Sophie and Louise had front row seats in the ballroom as they saw seven celebrities perform a variety of dances.

The two royal ladies could be seen clapping along to the music as the celebrities & pro dancers performed at Elstree Studios.

The couples’ ultimate aim to impress the watching public as well as the judges – Craig Revel-Horwood, Dame Darcey Bussell, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli.

Strictly Come Dancing is one of the UK’s most watched television programmes, and regularly draws an audience of more than 10m viewers.

Now in its sixteenth series, Strictly has been exported to over 40 other countries worldwide, including America where the show is branded as Dancing with the Stars.

Celebrities taking to the dancefloor on Saturday night include former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, Faye Tozer from Steps and actor Charles Venn.
