Coronation photo marks birthday of the Princess of Wales

A new behind the scenes image from the Coronation has been shared by the Royal Family to mark the birthday of the Princess of Wales.

As Catherine turned 42, on January 9th 2024, a photo of her from the historic ceremony was released.

It shows the Princess smiling at the newly crowned King and surrounded by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

Coronation photos have become popular with the Royal Family to mark milestones in the months since King Charles III and Queen Camilla were crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6th 2023.

Their Majesties used a Coronation photo for their Christmas card in 2023.

Patronages of the Princess also took to social media to wish her a Happy Birthday. Among the first were the RAF Air Cadets.

The Princess will spend her birthday privately with her family.

Catherine, The Princess of Wales, was born on January 9th 1982 in Reading, Berkshire.
