The Duchess of Cambridge will unveil the results of the landmark survey on children’s early years later this week.
The Duchess announced that the findings of the ‘Five Big Questions’ project, focused on improving life for the under fives, will be shared in the coming days as the next stage of the project takes shape. ‘Five Big Insights’ will be revealed shortly and Kate will also be taking questions on the research as the programme continues to unfold.
News of the latest part of the project, launched in January 2020, was announced by the Duchess of Cambridge herself on the official Kensington Palace social media accounts. In a video message, Kate said ”we wanted to hear what you think about the importance of the earliest years of our children’s lives” before revealing that over half a million responses had been received to the survey.
She revealed that the answers had been combined with other public research to produce ”the UK’s biggest every study on early years”.
The Duchess acknowledged that much had changed since the initiative was launched, as the coronavirus pandemic took hold globally, adding ”this year has been a hugely challenging time for us all and there hasn’t been a more important moment to talk about families.”
Five Big Questions involved an online survey as well as events led by the Duchess around the UK focused on early years, meeting parents and hearing their views on raising and supporting children. The project is supported by the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
