Royals, politicians and celebrities react to the royal baby news

From the moment Kensington Palace announced on Monday morning that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expecting their third child, reaction has been flooding in from across the world.

From world leaders to celebrities, hundreds of well-known faces have been chiming in their congratulations to the couple as they will welcome their new baby in 2018.

The Queen: Her Majesty is “delighted with the news” according to a press release from Kensington Palace. The new baby will be her sixth great-grandchild.

Prince Charles & Camilla: The future King and Queen are also said to be “delighted” that the Cambridge Family will be welcoming another member according to Clarence House.

Prince Harry: Asked how he is feeling about becoming an Uncle again, Prince Harry said: “Fantastic – great! I’m very very happy for them.”

Theresa May: 10 Downing Street released a statement from the Prime Minister, reading: “This is fantastic news. Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”

Ellen DeGeneres‏: The American entertainer tweeted: “I’M GONNA BE AN AUNT! Or a Godmother. Or whatever my cousin Kate Middleton wants me to be. Congratulations you two.”

Susanna Reid: The journalist and Good Morning Britain presenter tweeted: “Congratulations! Happy baby news.”

Kay Burley: The newsreader and broadcaster jokingly thanked her followers on Twitter for the messages that have been sent in congratulations ahead of her upcoming spell outside the Lindo Wing. In full she tweeted: “Thank you for all the congratulations and good wishes on the announcement of a third royal baby for Wiills and Kate. I am simply overwhelmed.”

Cheryl Tweedy: The singer and entertainer tweeted: “Awww congratulations to Will and Kate on their baby news !! 😍❤️3rd royal baba on its way 👑🙌🏼👶🏻☺️.”

Tessy de Luxembourg: The former Princess Tessy, ex-wife of Luxembourg’s Prince Louis posted on Instagram, “Such great news! Baby number 3 ❤️ Congrats from my two angels and myself. How wonderful.”
