BREAKING: The Queen to meet Baby Sussex for the first time on Wednesday

The newest addition to the House of Windsor meets his great granny for the first time today. It’s understood that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will introduce their baby son to the Queen, who is currently at Windsor, later on Wednesday.

Her Majesty sounded excited at the arrival when she briefly discussed the Royal Family’s happy news at the Order of Merit service on Tuesday. The baby is her eighth great grandchild and fifth great grandson.

Baby Sussex was born at 5.26am on Monday May 6th 2019 weighing 7lbs 3oz. His proud father spoke to the media in the early afternoon, just minutes after the formal announcement of the birth of his son had been made. Prince Harry described his baby as ”to die for” and spoke of his pride in his wife who it’s understood went into labour in the early hours of Monday.

Baby Sussex has been at home with his parents and maternal grandmother, Doria Ragland, since his birth. It’s not yet clear, however, whether he was born at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor or at hospital.

The baby boy is seventh in line to the throne. He’s a fourth grandchild for the Prince of Wales who is yet to meet him but who told wellwishers that he was absolutely thrilled at having a new member of the family. Charles flew out for a tour of Germany, alongside the Duchess of Cornwall, just hours after his new grandson arrived.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also spoken of their happiness at Harry and Meghan’s baby boy. William and Kate said they were looking forward to meeting their nephew while the Duke of Cambridge jokingly welcomed his brother and sister in law to the ”sleep deprivation society”.

Harry and Meghan are set to present their son to the world for the first time at Windsor on Wednesday.
