Brand new photo of royal baby Archie to mark Mother’s Day in the US

At less than a week old, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor is starring in his second close up. To mark Mother’s Day in the US, his proud parents have taken to Instagram to share a new photo of their son. Archie’s feet are shown being cradled by his mother’s hands in a post shared for the special day.

The message paid tribute to mums around the world, those still here and those who are no longer with us, before celebrating the fact that this is the Duchess of Sussex’s first Mother’s Day as a parent. Sussex Royal isn’t the only royal account to celebrate mothers. In March, the Royal Family account wished all its follower a Happy Mothering Sunday when the UK day took place and shared images of the Queen with all four of her children. And Clarence House posted a photo of the Prince of Wales with the Queen to mark Mothering Sunday in the UK. The message then wished everyone a happy day.

Princess Eugenie also celebrated British Mother’s Day on her Instagram with photos of Sarah, Duchess of York. She wished all mums a special day but added ‘’ my beautiful and spectacular mother today and every day.’’  Her father, the Duke of York, wished all his followers a special day too in March sharing an image of himself with the Queen taken when he was just two years old.

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on May 6th 2019 at 5.26am. He was presented to the world by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex two days later at Windsor Castle just before he met his great grandparents, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, for the first time. Archie, who currently is known as Master, is seventh in line to the throne.
