Princess Anne cancels planned engagement

The Princess Royal has cancelled a planned engagement in Lancashire this morning.

According to a Buckingham Palace, Princess Anne cancelled her visit due to “adverse weather conditions”.

Her Royal Highness was due to visit the Parbold Equestrian Centre.

The Queen’s daughter is, however, still carried out an engagement in the county later on in the morning when she opened the new Catalyst Centre at Edge Hill University.

During the visit, the Princess Royal spoke briefly about her father.

When asked how the Duke was, Princess Anne replied: “I’ve got no idea. You know where I am? In the same place as you.”

There is no suggestion that Princess Anne’s cancelation is due to the car accident which her father, the Duke of Edinburgh, was involved in on Thursday.

Last year, the Princess Royal was deemed to be the ‘busiest royal’ after clocking up more engagements than any other royal.

In total, the Princess carried out 518 engagements, and she looks likely to conduct just as many this year.
