An innovation for the Earthshot Prize as Prince William reveals more details of this year’s environment awards

The Prince of Wales will oversee an expansion of the annual Earthshot Prize as he travels to Singapore for the event.

For the third year in a row, the Earthshot Prize will be given to five projects focused on finding the best solutions to repairing the planet. Each will get funding of £1 million to develop and implement their idea.

This year, Prince William will also take part in the first Earthshot Week which will see days of events bringing businesses and investors together with prize winners and finalists to help deliver more solutions.

During his trip to Singapore, at the start of November, the Prince will also take part in the United for Wildlife Global Summit.

The Princess of Wales won’t be travelling for the events. Prince George has exams in the same week as the Earthshot Prize and the Princess will be at home to support him. However, Prince William will try his hand at one of his wife’s previous sporting favourites – he’ll participate in a dragon boating event.

The Earthshot Prize will be presented on November 7th 2023.
