Royal Central announces the departure of Deputy Editor – new Editorial Team appointed

Royal Central today announces the departure of Jamie Samhan – our Deputy Editor – after four years on the team.

Having joined Royal Central in November 2014 as a reporter, Jamie was quickly appointed to the position of Assistant Editor in 2015 and then to her current role of Deputy Editor in 2016.

In her time at Royal Central, Jamie has written 840 articles and has led the site’s coverage, which included jetting around the world to bring you the latest royal news.

Jamie will be succeeded as Deputy Editor by Brittani Barger – currently Europe Editor – from 14th January.

Jamie said: “The last four years at Royal Central have taught me so much, it was a hard choice to leave. I will always value my time with the site and the people I worked with.”

Brittani said: “I’m deeply honoured to be taking on the role as Royal Central’s Deputy Editor. I’m thankful for this opportunity and wish Jamie all the best in her next venture. I know that she will be successful in her next role.”

The position of Europe Editor will be merged with the duties of Deputy Editor meaning Brittani will continue to lead Royal Central’s coverage of Europe’s Royal Families.

Also joining the Editorial Team is Lydia Starbuck who takes up the role of Desk Editor.

Lydia joined Royal Central in January 2014, and has held multiple roles since, most recently that of Senior Reporter.

In her new role, Lydia will be responsible for assigning news stories as well as editing and proofreading.

Lydia has been a journalist for over two decades and has worked for organisations including the BBC where she was a newsreader and producer.

With a degree in history and another in psychology, readers are certain to benefit from Lydia’s experience.
