The queen who walked into her silver wedding anniversary portraits all dressed in white

There was a distinctly bridal feel to the special portraits chosen for a special wedding anniversary by the King and Queen of the Belgians.

Queen Mathilde dressed all in white for the photos which mark a quarter of a century since her marriage to King Philippe.

The couple, who said ‘I do’ on December 4th 1999 in Brussels, are seen walking hand in hand at the Laeken Palace where they announced their engagement.

The Queen of the Belgians wore white trousers and a white top which was covered by a transparent white cape that gave the effect of a bridal veil in the images.

Belgium’s king and queen spent their wedding anniversary working – they are currently hosting the Sultan of Oman on a State Visit.
