King Charles hosted his annual Scottish Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and The Duchess of Edinburgh looked to thoroughly be enjoying herself.Â
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh joined King Charles and Queen Camilla for the annual Garden Party, and they looked to be in their element in their titular city.Â
While The Duke wore traditional morning suit and top hat for the garden party, The Duchess chose a pale blue, Roland Mouret day dress with bow detailing on the shoulder, nude pumps, and a wide-brimmed, Jane Taylor hat with feathers. She co=ordinated with The Queen who also chose a light blue coat-dress for the Edinburgh Garden Party.Â
The Royal Family first started hosting garden parties during Queen Victoria’s reign. However, it was not until the late 1950s when they became a staple event of the royal calendar.Â
These annual parties allow the Royal Family to meet several thousand people in a short amount of time; over 8,000 people were at Holyrood for the party on Tuesday. The guests invited come from communities all over Scotland and were invited to honour their impacts and contributions.
The King, who is still undergoing cancer treatments, specifically asked to stay later so that he would be able to speak with more guests.
