Sarah, Duchess of York diagnosed with skin cancer

Sarah, Duchess of York has been diagnosed with skin cancer.

The duchess has a malignant melanoma which is being treated.

The cancer was discovered as a result of the reconstructive surgery that the duchess underwent in 2023 following a diagnosis of breast cancer.

During the reconstruction process, her dermatologist ordered several moles to be investigated and it’s now been revealed that one of those has been found to be cancerous.

Further tests are now ongoing as the duchess is treated,

A spokesperson said ”Clearly, another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing but the Duchess remains in good spirits.”

Sarah also thanked her medical team for their ongoing support.

The statement confirming her diagnosis ended ”She believes her experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, colour and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma.”
