Queen Camilla makes a surprising revelation about the newest member of the Royal Family

Queen Camilla has announced a new addition to the Royal Family and they come with rather an unusual name. Moley has just taken up residence with Their Majesties and is, by all accounts, already reigning supreme.

The latest member of the Windsor household is actually a dog. The Queen confirmed she has a brand new pet during a day out in Kent when she revealed that she was now the proud owner of a tiny puppy. Moley, now aged eight weeks, is a rescue dog and came to Queen Camilla from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in London.

The Queen has a history of rescuing pets – her beloved dogs, Bluebell and Beth, were also saved by Battersea before making their way to the Palace. Beth died in November 2024, with the Royal Family making an announcement of her passing on their official social media. Like many pet owners, The Queen felt she needed time before getting a new companion. Now, Moley has arrived.

Their status as rescue dogs isn’t the only thing that unites Moley and Beth. The newest royal dog has a bit of Jack Russell in them, the same breed as Beth. But it’s only a bit. Queen Camilla was asked what breed her new pet was and replied ”you may well ask, it’s a bit of everything.”

That could explain the rather unusual name as well. The Queen confessed the latest in a long line of royal pets is called Moley became she looks just like a mole.

Queen Camilla sometimes took Beth on royal engagements with her. The newest resident of Buckingham Palace may yet be rota-d on to duty, too.
