Princess Märtha Louise has married her long term partner, Durek Verrett, in a lavish ceremony in western Norway,.
In the presence of King Harald and Queen Sonja, the 52-year-old princess married the self-styled shaman.
Guests attending the wedding include members of Sweden’s royal family, as well as an array of celebrities and media personalities.
However, guests have been warned not to share pictures of their celebrations online, with Hello magazine having exclusive rights to the four day wedding extravaganza.
The Norwegian royal family has already said it won’t appear in any of the photographs taken for the Hello exclusive. It’s understood Netflix have also been filming with Princess Martha Louise and Durek Verrett for a wider programme about their relationship.
The couple announced their engagement in 2022 with Durek Verrett, a self proclaimed shaman, presenting his wife to be with an emerald engagement ring.
The relationship between the two has attracted controversy in Norway. Martha Louise has been accused of cashing in on her royal status in business contexts and has promised not to use her title for work purposes.
In 2007, the princess declared she was clairvoyant and once ran a school teaching people to “create miracles” and talk to angels.
Durek Verrett’s comments on health issues, including his decision to sell medallions which he says cure covid, has also proved controversial.
The wedding celebrations began on August 29th 2024 with a party at which the couple debuted matching pink outfits. Their full marriage will appear in Hello in the coming days.
