Princess Beatrice’s happy news has her family gushing on social media

Sarah, Duchess of York and Princess Beatrice

After Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo shared their happy news—that they’re expecting their second child together next spring—the royal’s family took to social media to share the “joy and excitement” they feel over the upcoming addition.

Princess Beatrice’s mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, shared snaps of herself with her daughter and granddaughter, and wrote a note from a ‘proud Gigi’ and ‘Mum’ to share how “Words can’t quite express the joy and excitement I feel as you and Edo prepare to welcome another precious addition to your beautiful family.”

The former royal is already grandmother to August and Ernest through Princess Eugenie as well as to Beatrice’s daughter, Sienna, and stepson, Wolfie.

She added that “becoming a granny again fills my heart with so much happiness and gratitude. Watching you grow as a mother has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and now to see your family blossom further is an absolute blessing.”

She signed off saying that she can’t wait “to share in all the wonderful memories we will make together.”

Princess Eugenie, meanwhile, shared a family snap from Christmas 2022, and wrote to her big sister ‘Beabea’ that she’s “So looking forward to more on this journey of motherhood together. And adding another little one to the gang.”

Buckingham Palace shared the news on Tuesday, writing that “His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”

Princess Beatrice is mother to Sienna Mapelli Mozzi, aged three, and stepmother to Wolfie, aged eight. Her new baby will be eleventh in line to the British throne upon birth, but will not have a title.
