Norway’s royals issue update on King Harald after admission to Malaysian hospital

King Harald remains in hospital in Malaysia where he is being treated for an infection.

The King of Norway, 87, was admitted after falling ill during a holiday.

In the latest update issued by the royal court, it was announced that the king’s doctor is now with him at the hospital.

Harald V is recovering and is said to be doing well.

However, he won’t leave hospital for several days at least and the latest update said that no decision had been taken on when or how he would return to Norway.

The Norwegian embassy in Kuala Lumpar is now offering practical assistance in connection with the situation.

King Harald’s son and heir, Crown Prince Haakon, was already acting as regent with his father on holiday and all the royal family’s engagements will proceed as planned.
