King Charles leads Royal Family to Christmas Day service at Sandringham

The Royal Family was greeted by large crowds at Sandringham as they gathered to celebrate Christmas.

King Charles and Queen Camilla led the family on the traditional walk to St Mary Magdalene Church for the Christmas Day morning service, greeting well-wishers along the way.

The Prince and Princess of Wales joined them with their three children – Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis – who drew particular attention as they smiled and waved to members of the public.

Not far behind were Prince William’s cousin, Zara Tindall, who attended with her family.

The Princess Royal and Sir Tim Laurence walked alongside the Duke of Edinburgh and his son, James, Earl of Wessex, while the Duchess of Edinburgh made her way to the church with her daughter, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, now 22.

Princess Beatrice arrived with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, joining the wider family for the Sandringham celebrations.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank were also in attendance.

As in recent years, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, did not attend the public church walk. The King’s brother has remained absent from official royal Christmas events amid his continued withdrawal from public duties.

The Royal Family is spending Christmas at Sandringham, where the King hosts the traditional festive gathering.
