Buckingham Palace has shared details of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s upcoming visits to Australia and Samoa.
The King will be undertaking his first visit to a realm as Monarch with his upcoming tour. King Charles and Queen Camilla have a busy schedule set for their trip.
A welcome to Australia
The King and Queen will begin their tour on Friday, 18 October. Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese. will welcome them to the Parliament in Canberra where they will also have engagements on 19 October, including a reception for community leaders.
They will then be in Sydney on 20, 21 and 22 October where they will attend several engagements separately and together. Queen Camilla has an important visit where she will attend discussions on the impact of domestic and family violence.
While in Sydney, they will also oversee a full fleet review of the Royal Australian Navy and attend events at the Sydney Opera House.
Straight to Samoa
They will then be heading to Samoa for an official State Visit on Thursday, 24 October. They will be welcomed with the Ava Fa’atupu ceremony, a formal Samoan tradition, before undergoing several community engagements.
King Charles will then attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, known as CHOGM 2024. Samoa is hosting the conference this year and one of the main themes is “A Resilient Environment”.
