The King and Queen have enjoyed a day at Epsom, making a surprise visit to one of the most famous horse racing festivals in the world.
Their Majesties had a runner in one of the best known stakes, the Oaks, but the day would end in disappointment for them as their horse failed to place.

Treasure was a long shot in the race and ended up coming second last with King Charles and Queen Camilla watching every move from the stands.
Earlier, The King and Queen had toured the parade ring to meet Treasure’s trainer, John Warren, and jockey, James Doyle.

The horse is one of a number in Their Majesties’ stables which was bred by Queen Elizabeth II.
Despite the disappointing result, The King and Queen were in good spirits at the race and were given a warm reception with the crowd singing the National Anthem as they took their places in the stands.
