The Princess of Wales attends church in Scotland

The Princess of Wales has been spotted attending church in Scotland this morning, her first public appearance since Wimbledon earlier this summer.

Catherine, who is still undergoing cancer treatment, has been at Balmoral Castle, the Royal Family’s Scottish residence. The Wales Family is understood to have arrived earlier in the week for their traditional end-of-summer stay. Their visit usually happens near the end of August, before the Wales children return to school.

Crowds spotted William and Catherine in the convoy of royal cars driving to Crathie Kirk, with Prince George visible in the backseat.

In separate cars, King Charles and Queen Camilla, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their son James, were also seen driving to church.

This marks Catherine’s first public appearance since the Wimbledon Men’s singles finals in early July. Prior to that, she appeared at Trooping the Colour in June.

Catherine filmed a short video alongside her husband congratulating Team GB on their Olympics placements earlier this month, telling athletes: “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.”

Catherine has been undergoing cancer treatment since earlier in the year. She revealed her diagnosis in March following weeks of speculation on her lack of public appearances—despite issuing a statement that she’d undergone abdominal surgery in January and would be out of the public eye while she recovered.

In June, she released a second statement and said: “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

Kensington Palace has given no timeline on when to expect Catherine to return to a public-facing role, but the royal said: “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
