The Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Harry are to carry out a joint engagement together on November 7.
Prince Philip and grandson Harry will visit the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey to honour those who have died fighting for this country.
On arrival, the Duke and the Prince will be greeted by The Dean of Westminster, The Rector of St. Margaret’s Church and members of The Royal British Legion Poppy Factory..
During their visit, they will each lay a Cross of Remembrance in front of two wooden crosses from the Graces of Unknown British soldiers from the First and Second World Wars.
After this, they will take part in a two minutes’ silence to show their respect for those lost. The Princes representing the Queen will then visit the plots meeting veterans from past and recent conflicts.
The engagement will hold significance for the royal pair who have both served for this country.
During the Second World War, Philip served in the British forces as part of the Royal Navy and in October 1942, at age 21, became one of the youngest first lieutenants in the Royal Nacy, when he promoted to first lieutenant of HMS Wallace.
Continuing the tradition of Royal men joining the British forces, Harry has chosen a military career, which has seen him visit Afghanistan twice.
Harry, who joined the British Army in 2005, is known as Captain Wales and has trained as an apache helicopter pilot.
In 2007, the Prince was sent to Afghanistan where he served on the front line, however after 77 days he was pulled out due to newspaper confirming his deployment.
However, in late 2012, Harry, returned to Afghanistan where he served for 20-weeks. Speaking after his return in January, 2013, Harry explained the Army offers him a “normal” environment outside his royal life.
“It’s normal as it’s going to get. I’m one of the guys. I don’t get treated any differently.”

I believe you mean ‘Graves’ and not ‘Graces’ as is written in the article.
How wonderful, the Princes will be great company for one another. The poor Duke with all those medals, I do hope he has a special light weight set!
