Princess Sofia of Sweden’s wedding tiara is quite versatile.
The diamond spikes of the palmetto diamond tiara are interchangeable, from diamonds, pearls, emeralds, blue gemstones and turquoise toppers. The Princess recently debuted a new set for the tiara and on the perfect occasion.
For the Golden Jubilee celebrations of her father-in-law, King Carl XVI Gustaf, in mid-September, Princess Sofia showed off her topaz toppers during the gala dinner on 15 September.
The November birthstone fit perfectly with the Golden Jubilee theme to celebrate King Carl Gustaf’s 50 years on the Swedish throne. The choice came as a surprise, as no tiara in the Swedish royal collection is made of topaz; however, Princess Sofia chose to debut the new setting for the perfect event.
The Palmetto Tiara was a wedding gift from the King and Queen Silvia to their new daughter-in-law in 2015. Sofia wore the original emerald set for her wedding to Prince Carl Philip in June of that year. Since then, she has interchanged the top jewels for various events, but none fit the theme better than the golden topazes and the Golden Jubilee.
