Royal bride Harriet Sperling chooses Emilia Wickstead for her much anticipated wedding dress

Harriet Sperling has turned to a favoured royal designer for her wedding dress: Emilia Wickstead.

Speaking to British Vogue, Wickstead said, “We aligned on something authentic, traditional and modern.”

Sperling’s stunning Italy ivory crepe wedding dress features a square-neck column underdress, a lace over jacket, and a three-metre train. The Leavers Lace lacework is a nod to the prairie flowers that grow in Gloucestershire and the train was inspired by a 19th century silhouette.

Harriet’s veil was also made with Leavers lace and featured the same prairie flower lacework.

Wickstead said that she and Harriet worked on the gown’s design for months, but its column silhouette was sorted out early on in the process. She also designed the bridesmaids dresses for Savannah, Isla and Georgina.

Harriet complemented her stunning wedding dress with Jimmy Choo heels, a diamond tiara, and a wedding bouquet with sprigs of lily-of-the-valley and myrtle.

Wickstead has been a long-time favourite designer for Catherine; having designed clothing for the future queen for nearly 15 years.

Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling said ‘I do!’ at All Saints Church in Kemble in the presence of their families, including King Charles and Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Princess Anne will host their reception later today at her Gatcombe Park estate, though the King and Queen will duck out early to attend the Epsom Derby.
