This year saw many celebrations and changes. As we say goodbye to 2022, members of the Royal Central editorial team have shared their favourite moments from the past year.

My favourite royal moment of 2022 was The late Queen’s attendance at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
As it turned out, it was the last time we saw Her Majesty at her most relaxed and doing the thing she most loved.
The Queen was clearly delighted when her pony won an award at the show and took great pride in watching her youngest granddaughter, Lady Louise, compete in the show on Prince Philip’s carriages.
Looking back, these will form previous memories for The Royal Family.
Next year’s Royal Windsor Horse Show will be missing a key figure.

This year has been memorable in so many ways. You can’t forget the celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in June and the joy on everyone’s faces. I’m so happy she was able to live to those moments.
My choice for my favourite moment comes from Norway in June when so many gathered in Oslo to celebrate Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s 18th birthday (that had been in January, but festivities were postponed due to the pandemic). We got the first tiara moment for Ingrid Alexandra, Princess Amalia of the Netherlands and Princess Elisabeth of Belgium. However, the one moment that stands out to me the most is from the birthday dinner when there was a sweet moment between Ingrid Alexandra and her beloved grandfather, King Harald. She leans over to hug him, and the doting grandfather kisses her on the top of the head.
It was such a sweet moment, and a moment so many of us can relate to with our own grandparents. It was really touching to see.

It’s been such a historic year, and the death of Queen Elizabeth II still lingers. But I’m being positive in my pick of 2022 moment and choosing the Platinum Jubilee. It was a wonderful celebration of an amazing reign, and it was lots of fun, too! From the Pageant to the Party at the Palace, from Trooping to the wonderful Service of Thanksgiving, it was a weekend to remember. And amidst all that, Paddington spoke for so many in that now legendary sketch. Thank you, Ma’am, for everything.

I always love the pomp and pageantry of royalty, and in Denmark, we were treated to two major events: Queen Margrethe’s Golden Jubilee and Crown Princess Mary’s 50th birthday celebrations. But my top moment has to be Mary’s birthday celebrations.
I’ve always loved following Mary’s royal work and loved how all-encompassing the events were. Her charities, her family life, her fashion and jewels, and her work with the Mary Fonden were all spotlighted, and I also enjoyed how the former Crown Princesses of Denmark were showcased as well!
