Mike and Zara Tindall attended the 13th Emeralds and Ivy Ball in London on Saturday.

Dressed to the nines in a floor-length metallic gown, The Queen’s granddaughter and her dapper husband, dressed in a tuxedo, rubbed shoulders with celebrity host, Ronan Keating and his wife, Storm.

The event was held in partnership with Cancer Research UK and the Marie Keating Foundation to raise money for Cancer Awareness Roadshow.

It is a cause close to the Boyzone singers’ heart, as his mother Marie Keating died of breast cancer after a two-year battle when he was 20.

Keating started the Marie Keating Foundation with his four siblings after his mother’s death. Their aim is “making cancer less frightening by enlightening” people about the early signs.

The charity gala was held in honour of Ms Keating and has become the flagship fundraising event for the Cancer Awareness Roadshow.

The roadshow is a programme which aims to educate the public about the importance of early detection of cancer and ways to reduce their risk of cancer through lifestyle changes.

It is currently made up of a team of four nurses who travel around remote areas of the UK and who have spoken to more the 500,000 members of the public.

Early detection of cancer has been proven to be key in successfully fighting the disease.

The 2018 gala, which had a nutcracker theme raised a staggering £1 million pounds for the charities.

Tickets to last nights glittering event ranged from £600 to £1000 each.

The cancerresearchuk.org website advised Saturday night’s gala would include a champagne drinks reception, followed by a luxury three-course meal finishing with coffee and petit fours, live entertainment including a musical performance by Ronan Keating, a live and silent auction along with appearances by celebrity guests.

It was held at the Old Billingsgate in London, a former fish market which has been upgraded to an event space on the North Bank on the River Thames with a terrace which has views of the Tower Bridge, The Shard and London Bridge.
