King Charles was left ‘terrified’ by what happened inside Sandringham, expert claims

The King was reportedly left “terrified” after a mysterious ghost encounter at Sandringham, according to a paranormal historian who claims the royal residence is haunted.

Richard Felix, a paranormal historian, recounted the alleged incident during an appearance on HELLO!’s Right Royal Podcast, claiming Charles encountered an unexplained presence while visiting the Norfolk estate before becoming King.

He said the then-Prince of Wales was in the library at Sandringham alongside a footman when the pair were seemingly followed around the room by a ghost.

“Prince Charles was apparently terrified at Sandringham when he was again in the library at Sandringham; he and a footman were in there and followed around the library by a ghost!” Felix said.

Sandringham has long been associated with the Royal Family, serving as one of their principal private residences and traditionally hosting the family for Christmas.

The alleged encounter is not the only royal ghost story to emerge over the years, with Queen Camilla previously describing an unsettling experience at Dumfries House in Scotland.

Speaking in the documentary The Real Camilla, the Queen recalled visiting the property while it was being renovated by Charles.

She described feeling an overwhelming presence as she entered the building, leaving her unable to continue further.

“There was definitely a ghost — without a shadow of a doubt,” Camilla said.

“I remember the first time I walked up the steps, got into the hall and I thought, ‘I can’t go any further.’ I literally froze.

“If my hair could stand on end, it would have done.”

The Queen said she left the property convinced she did not want to return.

“I remember leaving and thinking, ‘I don’t want to come back here again,’ and I didn’t for a few years,” she recalled.

However, Camilla suggested that the atmosphere at Dumfries House changed following the renovation work.

“Whatever was there had disappeared. The whole thing seemed to be smiling again,” she said.

Meanwhile, Felix also claimed that Buckingham Palace has its own ghostly resident.

According to the paranormal historian, the Palace is reportedly haunted by the spirit of a monk who wanders through its corridors.

He explained that Buckingham Palace was built on a site previously associated with the monks of Westminster Abbey.

Describing the alleged apparition, Felix said the monk was seen wearing a cowl, or hood, as he wandered through the royal residence.
