Harry and Meghan celebrate their news with a new picture showing a baby bump

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex say they are ‘overjoyed’ at the news that they are expecting a second child together.

The couple’s spokesperson released a statement confirming the news alongside a photograph of the couple.

In the black and white image taken by Misan Harriman, Harry can be seen sitting on the grass outdoors whilst Meghan lies on the ground with her head in his lap.

A baby bump is clearly visible in the image with the new arrival expected in the summer.

The child will become eighth-in-line to the throne and will be a little brother or sister to Archie-Harrison.

The couple released a short statement saying “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

The couple, who now live in California, shared their news on Valentine’s Day along with a new, black and white photo in which Meghan’s baby bump can be clearly seen.

She or he will also be a tenth or eleventh great grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. Harry’s cousin, Zara, is expecting a third child in 2021 and, like the Sussexes, hasn’t confirmed a due date so it’s not known which baby is expected to arrive first.

The new baby of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is likely to be born in California where the family now live.

The happy news comes just months after the Duchess of Sussex revealed that she lost a baby to miscarriage in 2020.
