Elizabeth II, a life of service

The Queen has died after a lifetime of service. Her Majesty passed away at Balmoral on September 8th 2022 with her family around her.

Throughout her long life and reign, she had always put the service of her country and the Commonwealth at the forefront of everything. As the world mourns Elizabeth II, her words of devotion remain.

As she marked her 21st birthday in 1947, she said ”“I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”

She held true to that throughout seventy years of rule. Just two days before her death, she appointed her last Prime Minister in a short audience at Balmoral, despite being unwell.

As she became the only Monarch in British history to mark a Platinum Jubilee, she rededicated herself and her promise and signed her statement ”Your Servant, Elizabeth R.”

A true life of service. Thank you, Ma’am.
