The princess who just shared that her imminent royal baby is a a very welcome surprise

It’s already one of the big royal events of 2025 but the imminent arrival of a brand new royal baby is making headlines before they are born.

Princess Sofia of Sweden has revealed that her fourth child, due in early spring, is a bonus baby and her three boys can’t wait to meet their new sibling.

Speaking to Swedish Vogue magazine in a special interview to mark her 40th birthday on December 6th 2024, the princess said that her imminent arrival ‘is ”maybe wasn’t planned, but now we’re very, very excited, especially the children.”

She told the magazine that she and her husband, Prince Carl Philip, were content with being a family of five, saying that ”it would be a good number” but now can’t wait to be a family of six.

The couple, who married in 2015, have three sons: Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 7 and Prince Julian, 3. Their fourth child is due in the spring.
