Princess Madeleine takes children to Romero Britto’s atelier

Princess Madeleine of Sweden has taken her eldest children, Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas on a visit to the painting atelier of the Brazillian artist Romero Britto. The Princess and her children helped to paint the portraits of the Princess’s two oldest children.

Yesterday, Princess Madeleine visited Romero Britto’s studio in the Wynwood Walls & Art District of Miami, Florida. The youngest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden brought two of her children, Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas with her. The Princess was shown around in the artist’s studio and got to see Britto’s version of “The Last Supper”, originally by Leonardo Da Vinci.

However, the Princess and her children soon got to work and helped to paint two portraits of Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas. Princess Madeleine shared the experience on her Instagram page with the caption: “The children and I spend a lovely afternoon painting with my dear friend Romero Britto.”

Princess Madeleine has known Romero Britto for several years, and over the years the two have developed a close friendship. Mr Britto is also an avid supporter of the World Childhood Foundation through his Britto Foundation. The Brazillian artist has donated time, art and money and organised fundraisers for over 250 charitable organisations such as the World Childhood Foundation. The WCF was founded by Princess Madeleine’s mother, Queen Silvia, and the Princess has also been working for the organisation for several years.

Now it seems that Mr Britto has started to paint the two eldest children of Princess Madeleine, Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas. These portraits, however, are not the first “royal” portraits that Romero Britto has painted as he also created a picture of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in honour of their engagement.

The paintings of Romero Britto are world famous. His works are on display in the United States, Europe and Asia. In his paintings, the artist combines elements of pop art with cubism and graffiti. His most recent collaboration is a handbag line for Dolce & Gabanna.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden, her husband Chris O’Neill and their three children currently live in Florida, USA. Since the Princess is unable to undertake many official engagements in Sweden, she often shares photos of her everyday family life on Instagram. Madeleine and her family are expected to return to Sweden for the summer holidays.
