Interactive family tree of Swedish Royal Family available from Expedia

For those who are often confused when reading a name of the royal families of Scandinavia, Expedia has come up with a solution! The website has created an interactive family tree of the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish royal families.

When you click on this link, a new page will open with the interactive family trees of the Scandinavian royal families. Just click on the royal family you wish to know more about and the family tree will appear. You can also click on the person you want to learn more about, and more information will appear. There is also a possibility of having the three family trees next to each other to see in a simple and informative way how close they are linked with one another. The website also has symbols for marriage, divorce, King/Queen and died at a young age.

What is very interesting about Royally Connected is that it also shows the bloodlines. Those royals who have been born in the royal families, show very diverse bloodlines. The website explains: The bloodlines shown in the map refers to the person’s blood group inherited from their biological parents. This is different from national identity, which refers to where the person was born/raised. The percentages presented in the bloodline are a simplified estimate and should not be taken as hard facts but rather as proof of international ties throughout the European Royal History.”

The website Royally Connected was created by Expedia Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Expedia is an international travel company with headquarters in the United States. The website is also very much up to date as they have already added Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill’s newborn daughter Princess Adrienne of Sweden. A small mistake on the website is that Princess Leonore of Sweden also holds the American next to the Swedish nationality.
